■Product Description
The Zero Fighter, the most produced aircraft in Japanese aviation history and synonymous with World War II aircraft, is now available in a completely new mold.
The Zero Fighter was developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy as a carrier-based fighter aircraft to be operated from aircraft carriers. From its appearance in the Sino-Japanese War until the early stages of the war, it demonstrated unparalleled strength and achieved such success that it later became known as the "Zero Fighter Myth."
After the first mass-produced model, the Type 11, improvements were made sequentially, and the Type 52 was roughly the fifth type. It is characterized by its rounded wingtips, a change from the shortened wings of the Type 32 aimed at increasing speed. The Type 52, produced by its developer Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is further classified into early, mid, and late models, and the Mitsubishi mid model that is being modeled here reproduces the appearance immediately after the change to thrust-type single exhaust pipes, before heat shields were attached to the fuselage where each exhaust pipe is located.
This model kit abandons the orthodox method of dividing the fuselage into left and right halves and gluing them together, instead adopting a division similar to the actual aircraft, with the rear fuselage being molded as a single piece using a slide mold. In addition, the canopy is made into separate parts for the glass and window frame, and other rare parts divisions and assembly methods have been incorporated to amplify the enjoyment of building, and it was developed to be a new Zero Fighter plastic model unique to the Reiwa era.
