■Product Description
The Kwantung Army was a unit that originated from the security forces that guarded the Kwantung Leased Territory (the tip of the Liaodong Peninsula) and the South Manchuria Railway (Mantetsu) area of China, which were inherited from the Russian Empire after Japan's victory in the Russo-Japanese War.
For a while after its establishment, the unit was small in size, but it was repeatedly expanded and strengthened thereafter, and at its peak, it had a force of nearly 800,000 men.
In the Nomonhan Incident, units under the command of this Kwantung Army played a central role, with over 20,000 soldiers engaging in fierce battles with the Soviet army.
This kit reproduces soldiers in combat wearing the Showa 5th year military uniform, which was still commonly seen at the time of the Nomonhan Incident.
