■ Description
The M113 is an armored personnel carrier developed in the United States and adopted in 1960.
The M113 was produced in more than 80,000 units, including derivatives, and was used in a variety of combat and relief operations. The M113A1 was a type converted from a gasoline engine to a diesel engine, and was formalised in 1964. The ACAV (Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicle) was an armored version of the M113 that curved around the carriage-mounted dome, and was used in the Vietnam War when it was developed in 1963 by adding a shield to the 12.7mm machine gun M2.
