The M113 is an armored personnel carrier developed in the United States and adopted in 1960.
More than 80,000 M113s, including variants, were manufactured and used in various combat and support operations. The M113A1 is a type that was converted from a gasoline engine to a diesel engine and was officially adopted in 1964. The ACAV (Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicle) is a vehicle that was developed in 1963 and used in the Vietnam War, with a curved armor plate around the commander's cupola and a gun shield added to the 12.7mm M2 heavy machine gun, enabling it to be used as an infantry fighting vehicle capable of mounted combat.
