About the actual vehicle
The Sd.Kfz.250 armored personnel carrier was developed by the German army in World War II, which prioritized mobility, based on a 1-ton half-track. Production began in 1941, and from 1943 onwards, improvements were made to increase productivity by changing the shape of the armor plates and reducing the number of plates. The new model is called "Neu," which means new in German, or Type B, while the previous type is called Type A, or Alte, or old model. More than 4,000 Alte vehicles were produced. It is equipped with a Maybach inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine. It achieved a top speed of 60 km/h. It was armed with two 7.92 mm MG34 machine guns. It had a crew of two and could carry four soldiers. The Sd.Kfz.250/1 was the basic type, and various variations were also created, such as self-propelled gun types, taking advantage of its mobility. It played an active role throughout the war.
